2:30Ottoman Caliph: What Happened After 1924?
“He embodied all the complexity and contradictions of the late Ottoman experience.”
The Constitution is your strongest weapon—use it."
This situation was also there during the Emergency when the Turkman Gate incident took place. A lot of people were killed. There was firing in Muzaffarnagar and Kairana. But those were the times and people came out against him. Today, unfortunately, the Muslim community has accepted that if we say anything, we will be put in jail or we will be subjected to atrocities. I do not deny that it is happening and on a very large scale. But the way to fight it is that you have a weapon. That is the constitution of this country. He gives it to you. You fight the battle in a pitikli way. How is Owaisi Sahab fighting the battle he is fighting? Fighting under the Constitution only. The second thing is who is stopping you from going to the courts by forming an NGO or a human rights organization or by joining them? I went to the Supreme Court against hate speech and those people who were creating a ruckus in the name of Dharma Sansad went to jail. They imposed restrictions on them. There was a curb and then in my case itself, in Qurban Ali vs Union of India, the Supreme Court gave a decision that the police and administration should not wait for the FIR to be registered but should take suo motu cognizance whenever something happens anywhere. So right now you don't have any other weapon except this. That is a matter of constitutional rights. You can express your views on that. You should convey your message to the media. The media which is so called government media or lapdog media is not listening to you, so nowadays it is the era of social media, a lot of things are coming on it, you should go there and fight the court battle, whatever rights you have got, I am an Indian citizen in the name of a citizen, I have got this right, under that I should say my point on every forum where I can be heard or even if I am not being heard, still keep saying my point.
