2:30Ottoman Caliph: What Happened After 1924?
“He embodied all the complexity and contradictions of the late Ottoman experience.”
What does a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive India look like from a Muslim perspective?
Why did Muslims lag behind in various fields of progress? Who is responsible for this? Let us try to understand the reasons behind it. Some parties are considered openly anti-Muslim. But the reality is that no political party has taken care of the real needs of Muslims. What about Muslims? These general political parties also care very little about the interests of the common people. She is more interested in politics. Secular groups used Muslims as a vote bank while other groups want to limit their rights. The representation of Muslims has been low. That means representation in those political parties as well as in other institutions like Parliament and Assemblies, and the representatives who come also remain under the control of their party's policies and not the reality of the issues of their community. It is obvious that the few people who are in BJP do not go to their party and express the interests of Muslims or the demands of Muslims, but try to explain the views of their party to the Muslims. Similarly, the condition of other parties is also the same. Apart from this, the Ulama mostly paid attention to religious matters and did not pay due attention to social and economic progress, for which it was their duty, due to which a gap kept increasing between the people and the Ulama. That is, this gap may not be from the religious point of view, but in worldly matters, the kind of communication that should have taken place — that the religious scholars would have been representing them fully and guiding them in a way — did not happen to the extent it should have. Most of the scholars, that is, the intellectuals, the educated people, instead of doing practical work, remained limited to criticism only, and have failed to prepare a wise practical body.
